Courtney Ryan specializes in media relations, crisis communications, and event planning.
As a seasoned public relations professional, Courtney works with clients across several industries, including energy, insurance, blockchain and digital assets, technology, and manufacturing.
Throughout her career at LS2group, Courtney has successfully secured interview and media placements for her clients in top-tier national and regional publications, including Bloomberg News, NBC News, and the Des Moines Register.
As a former broadcast journalist and government spokesperson, Courtney uses her passion for crafting compelling narratives and her on-camera skillset to help prepare her clients for interviews and speaking engagements, delivering their messages confidently and successfully.
During her time with LS2group, Courtney has helped clients in the carbon capture and sequestration, ethanol, and manufacturing space break through the challenging news cycles by planning media days, desk briefings, and interviews.
In addition to media days, Courtney has planned and executed several events for her insurance clients, specifically the property and casualty field, including multi-day conferences, board meetings, and networking events.
Courtney started her career in broadcast news reporting in several TV markets throughout Wisconsin and Kansas. Her work earned her three awards from the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association. Her passion for politics brought her to Kansas, where she worked as the statewide capitol bureau chief for the NBC affiliates.
Before joining LS2group, Courtney served in political communications roles for the Kansas Lottery and former Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer, M.D.
Courtney earned her undergraduate degree in broadcast communications with a minor in public relations from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. While at UW-Platteville, she pitched on the softball team and was voted captain her junior year.
Courtney lives in Waukee, Iowa, with her husband and yellow lab, Goldy. She enjoys golfing and volunteering through the Junior League of Des Moines.
