In the lead-up to Midwest Growth Partners’ (MGP) tenth anniversary, the company partnered with LS2group to take a moment and celebrate the company’s achievements, as well as its portfolio companies.
MGP is a private equity fund manager, responsible for more than $325 million of private capital across multiple funds. The company seeks to make succession planning liquidity or growth capital investments in established companies located in underserved rural markets. Most private equity firms avoid the rural marketplace, but MGP prefers it, with a particular focus on companies managed by great people who share a cultural fit with its team.
Before coming to LS2group, MGP had not previously engaged in active public relations efforts but had worked with LS2group on other marketing efforts. To achieve MGP’s goals, LS2group drafted a variety of media materials including news pitches and releases. Stories were pitched to print, online, television, radio, and industry outlets. Once stories were pitched, the LS2group team monitored the relevant outlets and sent reports to MGP leadership.
During the three-month campaign, LS2group coordinated media interviews with company leadership and portfolio companies. Additionally, LS2group coordinated a news release about the closure of MGP’s third investment fund on Newswire after the firm exceeded its initial goal, and drafted proactive media pitches highlighting MGP and portfolio company successes.
The target media audiences were in the Midwest and business/industry outlets. The campaign secured coverage in national, local, and industry news publications. Throughout the campaign, LS2group secured over 26 media hits.
