Damian Thompson specializes in research and grassroots organizing.
Damian has experience both in the public sector and with nonprofit organizations. In 2015, Damian worked as a public policy administrator at The Harkin Institute where he spearheaded policy research. During his time at The Harkin Institute, Damian completed a comprehensive research project on disability studies programs offered at universities across the nation. In addition, Damian worked for Congressman David Young (IA-03) as an intern in the Des Moines office. While with Congressman Young, Damian formatted the Congressman’s schedule and assisted with event execution and constituent services.
Damian graduated cum laude from Drake University, earning a bachelor’s in law, politics, and society with a concentration in women’s and gender studies. While at Drake, Damian was a member of the Delta Theta Phi prelaw fraternity and Student Senate’s campus advancement committee.
Although he is a native Kentuckian, Damian has lived in the Des Moines metro since 2000.
