Ashley Hunt specializes in public affairs, social and digital media, and event management.
Prior to joining the LS2group team, Ashley worked at the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau and a Des Moines-area public relations firm. In 2017, Ashley served as the grassroots and outreach director for The Concord Coalition, a nonpartisan organization that advocates for putting the national debt on a sustainable course, where she specialized in social media and digital grassroots activation.
Ashley also serves on several community and local boards and commissions. She serves on the Iowa Civil Rights Commission and is a board member for 50-50 in 2020, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, issue-neutral organization dedicated to achieving political equity for women in Iowa. Additionally, she currently serves on the Downtown Des Moines Chamber of Commerce’s LEAP Series Advisory Council, and is the social media chair and sergeant at arms for the Iowa Federation of Republican Women, vice president of communications for the Bull Moose Club for young professionals, and on the executive committees for the Polk County Republican Women and Social Media Club Des Moines. Ashley is also vice chair board member for Reach out and Read, a nonprofit that advocates for childhood literacy, a founding member of the Des Moines chapter of the United States National Committee for United Nations Women, and a member of the Des Moines Public Library’s “Next Chapter.”
In addition to her service on community boards, Ashley spends time volunteering for organizations like Dance Without Limits, a dance program in Des Moines for children and young adults with special needs, the Des Moines Arts Festival, and Tunnel to Towers.
A proud graduate from Iowa State University, Ashley double majored in speech communications and event management. At Iowa State University, Ashley worked as an editor at the Iowa State Daily, was on the Iowa State Dance Team, was a member of PRSSA, and is a member of the ISU Alumni Association. Ashley also earned a digital marketing and social media certificate from Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in 2018.
